On September 25, 2015, a historic gathering of 167 world leaders convened at the United Nations Summit in New York to formally adopt “Transforming Our World: The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” This ambitious agenda introduced 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), building upon and expanding the scope of the previous Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The new global goals aim to address the root causes of poverty and promote inclusive development, ensuring progress benefits all people universally.
